Parkview Youth meets every Friday to have fun, build community and learn about Jesus. We start at 7:00 pm with some icebreakers and games. Then grab a quick snack and sing some worship songs together before a message. After that, we head into small groups to talk about our week and what the message means. We end at 9:00 pm and you’ll see your teen in the lobby of the church for pick-up. 

 

You’ll also get a monthly newsletter that will help you to continue the lesson at home but this month’s newsletter is mainly about the two bigger parts of September, Kick-off and Fall Retreat.

 

Now that’s a quick look into what most Fridays look like, but once a month we do something called a BIG EVENT. Where we do something bigger than usual because part of being a teen is having fun. But these BIG EVENTS aren’t just for us, we want to actively invite more teens to come and join us for the fun. These events are great for teens to invite their non-Christian friends to as there is no message, and no worship, although we might still pray it’s not a bait and switch to share a gospel message. We love to invite visitors to check out what we do every other week and grow in faith but we know that it’s hard to ask friends at school to even go to a fun event at the church.

 

Here is a heads-up. Our annual Youth Overnight event is happening on Feb 21st and we will be staying up for 12 hours. Sleep is optional. Every year we host this event and it’s a highlight of the year this year we are doing it again. We pack this event full of activities, sessions, food, a movie, and silliness… okay that last part takes care of itself by 5:00 am. It’s a blast for the teens and there is no cost to attend, but if you want to help me by letting me know your teen(s) is coming, then I know how many snacks to buy for the night.
